Gorgeous Butter Sculptures Displayed at Jokhang Temple

    Jokhang Temple in Lhasa held an annual splendid exhibition of butter sculptures on Feb. 22, the 15th day of the first month in Tibetan calendar, attracting many Buddhist devotees and tourists.

     

    When the sun sets, Jokhang Temple will display all kinds of magnificent sculptures made of yak butter, such as Buddhist statues and so on to pray for peace and good luck. The butter sculptures are not only known for their high artistic value, but also their complex process of production.
