A nursing home in Tsona, a typical frontier alpine county located in Lhoka, an ancient city of Tibet, offers high quality services for childless senior citizens with special difficulty. The intensive service center is a welfare unit under the county's civil affairs bureau, which was officially put into operation in 2015.

According to statistics, there are 94 old people at an average age of 68 living in the nursing home. With outdoor fitness ground, reading room, medical room, massage room, barber room, activity room and multi-functional room, etc. facilities at the nursing home are complete.

In recent years, Tibet autonomous regional government has taken the improvement of people's livelihood as the starting point and ultimate goal of economic and social development. Hence, many nursing homes in Tibet gather childless elderly people who enjoy the "five guarantees" (proper food, clothing, medical care, housing and funeral/educational expenses) from rural areas, providing a better life for them.
